TAUMARUNUI WINTER SHOW

FIRST ANNUAL MEETING The first annual meeting of the Taumarunui Winter Show Association was very largely attended by members. Mr. A. G. Riches, president, presided. The chairman referred to the marked success that had attended the first show, and to the sympathetic attitude adopted toward them by the Auckland Winter Show Association. He recommended that the incoming committee consider making the show a distinctly district event, as they did not want Taumarunui to receive credit for exhibits that were really the property of other areas. Mr. Riches recommended a three-day show, and this suggestion was adopted. The balance-sheet disclosed a credit of over £BO. The Auckland body granted £SO toward the court at the Auckland show, and the expenses exceeded this amount by only £ls. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. A. G. Riches; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. G. E. Manson, L. Fisher, R. Bench (Ohura), S. Christmas, J. R. Powell, H. M. Beuck, Jos. McLeod, and T. Broad; general committee, Mesdames T. Broad, A. W. King, G. E. Manson, A. W. Collett, G. R. Miller, H. M. Fraser, B. Williamson, F. E. Cox, C. Ryan, S. Christmas, Miss J. V. Ward, Messrs. A. W. Richter, A. W. King, G. R. Miller, J. R. Powell, A. W. Collett, W. B. Williamson, B. M. Peek, W. G. Batt, A. Venn, T. J. Kerr, C. R. Murray, B. Andrews (Manunui), J. L. Robinson (Ohura), J. Waldegrave (Kaitieke), W. Edwards (Kaitieke), G. R. Thynne, W. Pywell (Owhango), C. Ryan, J. Excell (Owhango), E. Coogan (Ongarue), J. Pattison, P. Hewitt; executive committee, Mrs. A. W. Collett, Messrs. A. W. King, G. R. Miller, B. Williamson; treasurer, Mr. A. J. Langmuir; organiser, Mr. S. Christmas: auditor, Mr. W. Hughes; secretary, Mr. C. A. Stevenson.

Complimentary references were made to the excellent work done by Mr. Stevenson as secretary, and it was unanimously resolved to vote him an honorarium of 25gns.
