TREATY WITH CANADA

DELAYED NEGOTIATIONS MR. DOWNIE STEWART MAY TRAVEL Press Association. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Attempts to negotiate a trade treaty between New Zealand and Canada have apparently been suspended temporarily. It had been suggested that the Minister of Finance, the Hon. \V. Downie Stewart, intended to proceed to Canada to confer with the authorities there. Mr. Stewart was asked to-day if he couid throw any light on the subject.
