CHILD S LUCKY ESCAPE

WHEELS PASS OVER BODY FEW BRUISES RECEIVED Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. A fortunate escape from a very serious, if not a fatal, accident, was the experience of a four-year-old girl, the grand-daughter of Mr. W. L. Jones. The child was in a motor-vehicle which was stationary in Main Street East, when she decided to cross the road to the footway, being unaware that at the time another car was approaching. The latter struck the child, who was thrown to the ground before it could be pulled up. Two wheels passed over the girl’s body. Fortunately, the car was a light runabout. The girl escaped lightly with abrasions to the forehead, shock and bruises.
