WINTER SHOW

MEETING OF COMMITTEE PREPARATIONS IN HAND Intimation was received from the Auckland Harbour Board by the joint committee of the Auckland Winter Exhibition, at its meeting to-day, that *he Central Wharf sheds could be used for the Winter Show on the dates specified, July J 1 to July 21. A space 60ft by 20ft, at the north end of shed 12, will be reserved for special exhibits of cattle*. Space for milking machine, dairy utensils, etc., ■Will be reserved next to the cattle exhibit, and the butter and cheese section will be located near the dairy utensils. It was decided that the root crops and vegetables be placed in a covered Passage between sheds 9 and 12, and that the fruit and home industries and needlework sections be situated at the north end of shed 9. A scheme for a butter competition submitted for consideration. It was suggested that the butter be sold to the best possible advantage, and the Proceeds divided between the winner a od the next two placings. It was decided that a charge of 5 per cent, commission be made on all butter and cheese sold on behalf of the factories. It was decided to have a competition for a letter-head design, open to All schools. The resignation of Mr. F\ W. Jones Jas accepted with regret, and the Manufacturer s’ Association was empowered to appoint another member-
