MATCHES IN AUCKLAND FIRST TEST ABANDONED MATCHES AGAINST CLUB RINKS The party of Taranaki bowlerwhich arrived in Auckland this wo ; ori a tour of the Auckland province was to h; ve opened its city programme with a test match against eight Auckland rinks yestcrdav. but heavy rain resulted in the match bring: abandoned. The second test will be played at Remuera afternoon. and the third test at the O; triton green on Friday afternoon. The visitors expect to leave Auckland on their return journey on Saturday. Yesterday morning, four rinks •! the visitors engaged in friendly gam?> with rinks from the Carlton, Oci?hunga. Auckland and Mount Albert Clubs. Six teams played representatives of Howick, Papatoetoe and Mount Wellington at Papatoetoe this morning, while matches at Devon port and Takapuna were also played.
