RETURNED SOLDIERS’ STRONG PROTEST PUBLIC MEETING HELD Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. M|nday. A meeting organised by the Returned Soldiers Association was held this evening to protest against the carrying out of the City Council’s resolution to remove from public places ji in the city Several guns captured in the Great War. Two hundred people attended the meeting, and the proceedings were a ttimes lively. The following resolution was carried by an overwhelming majority: ’’That this public meeting emphatically protests against the action of the City Council in moving war trophies from thj city.”
