NORTH island tourney REFUSED INSUFFICIENT SUPPORT The North Island lawn tennis championships will not be decided in Auckland this year, as there are no indications of appropriate support from players. The Emergency Committee of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association met last evening and reported that telegrams had been sent to most of the leading clubs in the North Island. Only eight replies were received, and of these a few promised that some players would come to Auckland. It was decided not to hold the tournament.
