Mrs. C. H. Tewsley is an Auckland, visitor to Rotorua.

* * * Mrs. H. A. Goudie, of Rotorua, is staying in Auckland. Mrs. W. Macklow, of Auckland, is spending a holiday in Rotorua. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Green, of Feilding, are at present in Auckland. Mrs. E. Jackson, of Palmerston North, is a visitor to Auckland. Mrs. Cliatey is a Sydney visitor to Auckland, and is staying at Arundel. The Misses Shuttleworth have returned to their residence in Ladies Mile, Remuera. Miss Kilpatrick, who has been visiting Auckland has returned to Palmerston North. Mrs. F. J. Nathan has returned to her home in Palmerston North after a visit to Auckland.

Miss Harrowell has returned to Hamilton after a holiday spent in Auckland.

Mr. and Mrs. B. N. T. Blake and family, of Wellington, have left to take up their residence in Auckland.

Mrs. J. A. B. Hellaby has returned to her home in Remuera after spending ca long holiday in Rotorua,

Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Little and Mrs. C. W. Nielsen, of Wellington, have left for a visit to Auckland and Rotorua.

The Misses Agnes and Molly Darling, who have been staying at the Grand Hotel, left for the South last evening.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Duncan, of Takapuna, have gone for an extended tour of the Dominion, and are at present in Wanganui.

Mrs. T. L. Thompson, of Herne Bay, has returned from Wanganui, where she was the guest of her sister, Mrs. C. R. Renner.

Miss Janet Murray has gone to Christchurch to attend the conference of the federated Women's Clubs of New Zealand.

Mrs. I. J. Goldstine and son, of Auckland, who have been spending an extended holiday in Australia, returned by the Maunganui this morning.

Mrs. Kenneth MacCormick has returned to Auckland after a short visit to Rotorua. where she was the guest of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Campbell Duncan.

Mrs. A. Fitzherbert, of Wellington, who has been in Sydney for some weeks, holiday-making, returned to Auckland by the Maunganui this morning.

Miss E. Soloman, of Sydney, arrived in Auckland by the Maunganui this morning. She will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Goldstine, of Epsom, during her stay here. Mrs. Hunter, wife of Captain D. G. G. Hunter, returned to town with her child to-day after spending six weeks’ holiday in the Wairarapa. Captain and Mrs. Hunter will again take up their residence in Clonbern Road. ROWING CLUB DANCE The social committee of the North Shore Rowing Club held one of its enjoyable dances in the Foresters* I-lall, Devonport, last evening. Mesdames Seagar, Farquliarson and Oliver and Miss Tatton organised the function, which was well attended.

The Kit-Kat Orchestra provided music. The club is busy raising funds for two new boats and has a harbour picnic planned to take place early next month.

BIRTHDAY PARTY TENNIS BY NIGHT Mr. and Mrs. W. Perry, of Market Road, gave a distinctly original party at the Clive Road tennis courts on Saturday evening in celebration of the twentieth birthday of their youngest daughter, Audrey. Balloons and streamers flaunted their gay colours around the courts, making effective decoration, and favours in infinite variety were distributed among the guests. During the evening a ■knock-out” tournament was played, the winners being Miss Ruth Sutherland and Mr. L. Skipwith. Miss Audrey Perry received her guests wearing a smart striped sports jumper and a white pleated skirt. Among those present were:—Mesdames Bright, Skipwith, Millar, Manning (Dunedin). Crosher, Perry, jun and the Misses Edna Smeaton (Dunedin), Joyce Wright, Freda Sydenham (Opotiki), Winnifred Crosher, Ruth Sutherland, Polly Cribble, Heather Crandell, Esme Wood and Marjorie Woolley; also H. Matheson, TV'. J. Perry, D. Bush, W. Russell-Wood, E. Sharp, F. Grattan, L. Dickson, K. Wilson, E. Cheal, E. Kretschmar, R. Bowie, L. Skipwith, G. Gardner, N. Williams and R. Porter. BRIDGE PARTY FOR BRIDE-ELECT Mrs. R. Roberts was the hostess at a charming bridge party at her home in Remuera last evening given in honour of Miss Mary Short, whose marriage will take place during Easter Week. The hostess wore an attractive gown of black taffeta, bordered with Canton jade crepe faille in petalled fashion. Miss Short’s dainty frock of briar rose georgette was delicately beaded with crystal and seed pearls. Tho reception rooms were gay with rose-coloured gladioli and tiger lilies, and bowls of fragrant late roses adorned the supper tables. Among Mrs.- Roberts’s guests were: Mrs. W. Short, Mrs. P. Smith, Mrs. P. Williams, Mrs. H. Neil, Mrs. A. Carr, Miss B. Short, Miss McMillan, Miss R. Wilson, Miss Maida Ross, Miss W. Simpson, Miss Blakeley, Miss Rostance, Miss Norma Everitt and Miss Connie Hurrell. CHILDREN’S PARTY FOR MISS JEAN MAXWELL A very enjoyable party was held on Satlrday at ‘■‘Kit.inui,” the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Maxwell, Belmont Avenue, Mount Albert, in honour of their daughter Jean’s 11th birthday. Forty guests were present and the younger ones, who numbered 28, played amusing games and competitions, the latter being won by Misses Goodman, Tyson, Cooper, and Master Miles. The chief feature of the birthday table decorations was the cake, beautifully iced and sumounted by 11 kewpies. Mi's. Maxwell, who received her guests, wore a charming embossed brown georgette frock relieved with pale pink and blue flowers.

Miss Jean Maxwell wore a pretty frock of pale blue crepe de chine. Those present were:
