POLICE PICNIC

FUN ON PINE ISLAND Accompanied by the Birkenhead Brass Band, about 1,000 members of the Auckland Police Force and their friends journeyed to Pine Island on Sunday for their annual picnic. Superintendent W. G. Wohlmann and Metropolitan Inspector J. Mcllveney were unable to be present. Among the officers who attended were Inspector J. W. Hollis. Ex-superintendent C. W. Hendry acted as starter for the athletic events and Senior-Sergeant J. Cummings acted as judge. Constable J. Coutts acted as secretary.
