A set of Scott’s “Waverley,” just as it left the printer’s hands, recently brought £6OO at auction. Another first edition, which had been rebound, sold in 1926 for £5. At the next general election in the United Kingdom it is expected that the number of women candidates will far exceed the 33 of the 1923 elections. Already 38 are in the field.
