HOPES TO_MEET PURDY VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND
Jackie Pilkington, an American lightweight boxer, arrived from Sydney by the Niagara this morning. He will spend some, time in New Zealand, and during tha t time he hopes to arrange a match with Charlie Purdy, whom he met and defeated at a match in Sydney. Pilkington is only 20 years of age. He has been in Australia for seven months, and during that time he fought six bouts, winning four of them. Until he is over 21 Pilkington is not allowed to box more than six rounds in any match, in America. That is partly why he is visiting this side of the world. __
