RIFLE SHOOTING
CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB SPRY’S BRISK WORK The City and Suburbs Rifle Club held the first shoot of the final series for trophies presented by Messrs. H. C. Choyce and G. Brownlee, at 600 and 700 yards, on Saturday, conditions again beating a number of the competitors badly. A. T. Patrick and I. Spry both shot well, and won the spoons for their respective grades, the latter’s 45 at 700 yards being a particularly fine effort. The championship aggregate is now in a most interesting position, H. J. Verrall joining C. J. M. Clark for the lead, one point above A. T. Patrick, with R. C. Russell three points away, and several others close up. Results are as follows: —- A Grade.—A. T. Patrick, 45, 42—87; Ft. C. Russell, 43, 41—84; H. J. Verrall, 43, 41—84; J. A. Spry, 44, 39—83; W. H.
