NOTES An Otahuhu listener heard a two-wry transmission between SSW England, and 2XAF New York, on Saturday morning. Both stations were on 21.9 metres, the wave-length of the American station. From midnight to 1 a.m. a conversation was kept up on various tests being carried out. Everything was as clear as if both were talking on a telephone. The stations reopened at 4.30 a.m., and continued to transmit to one another until 6 o’clock, when they closed down. SSW is on the air every morning except Sunday (Monday, New Zealand time), with a relay of the evening’s programme broadcast by 2LO. It is heard regularly in Auckland. 2FC usually rebroadcasts SSW.
