MEETING OF ASSOCIATION SOME IMPORTANT REMITS Three important remits will come before the quarterly meeting of the Primary School Committees’ Association, which will be held at the Teachers’ Institute rooms, Wellesley Street East, on Wednesday, March 21. The Ponsonby District Schools’ Committee is submitting a remit suggesting that owing to the large number of secondary school pupils now competing in the Junior National Scholarships examinations, that a certain number of the scholarships should be allotted annually to scholars in the primary schools: “That the Education Department pay travelling allowances to all children living more than a mile from any manual training centre,” is a remit from the Mount Roskill School .Committee. The executive will suggest that the necessity be urged for the introduction of swimming exercises, known as land drill, into all schools of the Dominion. A number of other matters will come up for discussion.
