Indications that the near future market for butter should remain fairly steady a round present figures continue to come to hand from all quarters. The advance rate on exports was moved up to Is 3d a lb on finest butter over the week, while the advance payment on cheese was also increased co BJd. This is a sure indication that even overseas importers have f. ith in present levels holding for some time to come. A. H. Turnbull and Company report receipt of the following cable from their London principals, W. Weddel and Com- ' ‘Butter.—Danish. 198 s; New Zealand, unsalted, 172 s to 17Ss; salted, 171 s to 1745; market steady. Cheese; New Zealand white and coloured, 97s to 995; market firm; Canadian, white, 104 s to ICSs; coloured, 102 s to 1065.”
