DEALING WITH PROBLEM OF FEEBLE-MINDED
BILL FOR STERILISATION By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 9.5 a.m. OTTAWA, Thursday. The Bill for the sterilisation of feeble-minded persons adopted by the Alberta Legislature at Edmonton will be contested in the courts by the People's Protective League on the ground that it is not constitutional. It is claimed that it interferes with the rights of the people. Every woman’s organisation in the province favours the measure. The Bill now awaits the assent of the Lieutenant-Governor. Alberta is the first province in Canada to pass such legislation.—A. and N.Z.
