ROTORUA LOADING. —The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rotorua, will now sail lor Napier on Tuesday evening, to continue Homeward loading. She will fill up at Lyttelton and Wellington, leaving the last-mentioned port finally on March 31.
CAMBRIDGE FOR AUCKLAND.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that it is hoped to dispatch the Federal steamer Cambridge from Wellington on Tuesday for final loading for Home at Napier and Auckland. She is due at Auckland next Friday.
BULK OIL CARGOES.—The tanker Oliva, which left San Pedro on February 19, will arrive at Auckland about March 3 i to discharge a cargo of motor spirit. The motor-ship Paua will arrive from ellingtoii on March 20 to discharge a cargo of transhipped oil. OMANA SAILS MONDAY.—The departure of the Lamb steamer Omana for Opua and Kaipara to complete loading timber for Melbourne and Sydney has been fixed for Monday evening, according to the advice of the Northern Company. The vessel is at the Central Wharf loading.
KING EDWIN TO SAIL.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the King Line steamer King Edwin, which is at present discharging Texas case oil at Western Wharf, is not to be dispatched for Napier, New Plj-mouth, Wellington and Australia before Monday or Tuesday next.
PA LOON A TO BE BROKEN UP.—The ex-intercolonial steamer Paloona has been anchored in the lower harbour at Dunedin for a considerable time on the inactive list. On Monday she was towpd to the wharf at Port Chalmers to be dismantled. When the Paloona was anchored in the stream she was one of five steamers similarly out of work. The Paloona is the fourth of them to be dismantled. The Mokoia is the only one left.
QUERCUS SAILS MONDAY. —Robert) Millar ana Company advises that the tramp steamer Quercus should complete her discharge at Chelsea on Monday and j will then proceed to “Westport for bunkers. thence Nauru Island, to load for New Zealand or Australia. MAKURA AT WELLINGTON. —The Union Company reports that the Male ura, from San Francisco and Papeete, left .Rarotonga at 5 p.m. on Monday last for Wellington. The vessel is due at the capital early on Monday morning, next, and will leave again the following afternoon for Sydney. MAHANA’S MOVEMENTS. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advises that the Mahana was to leave Napier yesterday for Wanganui roadstead and Wellington. She is due at Wellington next Thursday, and will sail finally from Wellington on March 20 for > London, via Panama. SYDNEY STEAMERS.—The Union Company's inter-colonial passenger steamers Maunganui and Marama are to .leave Sydney this afternoon for Auckland and Wellington, respectively. They are due at the New Zealand ports early on Tuesday morning next with passengers, mails and cargo. CORINTHIC REPORTS. —L. T>. Nathan and Company, Ltd., advises that a wireless message has been received from the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Corinthic stating she will arrive at Wellington from London and Southampton at six o’clock next Tuesday morning-. WEST NIVARIA SAILS MONDAY.— Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane advise that the Swayne and Hoyt Line steamer West Nivaria will now sail on Monday for Wellington and Lyttelton to complete discharge of cargo from Pacific Coast ports. She is at Prince’s Wharf. MATAROA DELAYED.—Heavy rain at Pieton on Wednesday delayed loading operations on the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mataroa. The vessel sailed yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton, where she arrived this morning. She is now due at Wellington on Sunday, and sails finally from Wellington on March 17 for Southampton and London via Panama. COWDEN LAW COMING. —Cable advice has been received that the tramp steamer Cowden Law sailed from Galveston, Texas, last Wednesday with sulphur for discharge at Auckland and other New Zealand ports. Robert Millar and Company will act as the local agents and the vessel is expected to arrive here about April 21. WESTMORELAND DELAYED. The Federal Company advises that the Westmoreland, which was compelled to leave Napier roadstead owing- to heavy weather, returned to the anchorage on Wednesday to continue discharge. She will now leave Napier on Saturday for Wellington to put out part of her Liverpool cargo. The vessel is due there on Sunday. MATATUA AT WELLINGTON. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s steamer Matatua arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Nelson for further loading. She will leave there on Sunday morning for Auckland, and A. S. Paterson and Company advises that she is due here on Tuesday next to fill up for London. MIDDLESEX FOR AUCKLAND.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal Line steamer Middlesex is due at Auckland from Wellington, via Napier, on Wednesday next, March 14. The vessel is to complete loading for Home here, and it is expected that she will sail finally on March 17 for London, via New York and Halifax. NIAGARA LEAVES SYDNEY. At 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon, the Union Company’s R.M.S. Niagara sailed from Sydney for Vancouver, via Auckland. Suva, Honolulu and Victoria. She is due at Auckland early on Monday morning, and will be dispatched at 3 o’clock the next afternoon in continuation of her voyage. KAMONA DUE THIS AFTERNOON. —The Union Company’s steamer, Kamona, en route from Southern ports to Auckland, has reported by wireless that she expects to arrive in the stream at Auckland at four o’clock this afternoon. The vessel will berth at Xing’s Wharf, and after discharge, has been fixed to load at Greymouth for Auckland again. THE ANGLO-COLUMBIAN.—The Geo. H. Scales Co., Ltd., have made a further alteration in the itinerary of the AngloColumbian. Instead of loading at Auckland and Wanganui, the vessel will now leave Wellington on Monday for Napier and Port Chalmers, to fill up. She will sail finally from the Otago port on March 22 for Dunkirk, England and Antwerp, via Panama. HERMINIUS SAILS TO-NIGHT. Messrs. L. D. Nathan and Company advises that the Aberdeen White Star steamer, Herminius, having completed the discharge of basic slag from Antwerp, is to be dispatched at 8 o’clock this evening for Opua. Gisborne, New Plymouth and Dunedin to load New Zealand produce for Home. She will sail finally from Wellington for London and West Coast porta of the United Kingdom. PUKEKO LEAVES HOME.—Cable advice received states that Richardson and Company’s new steamer Pukeko sailed from Plymouth last Wednesday for New Zealand. The vessel was built by the Goole Shipbuilding and Repairing Company, and is a steel twin-screw steamer of 700 tons gross. Her dimensions are: Length, 180 ft.; breadth, 29ft.; depth,lift. The Pukeko is to be used in the East Coast trade and should arrive at Napier about the middle of next month. MAUI POMARE FOR NEW ZEALAND. —A cable message from Liverpool reports the departure for Wellington of the new motor-ship Maui Pomare, built by the Dublin Dockyard Company for the New Zealand Government. The vessel was launched last September, and will be employed in trading between the Dominion and the South Sea Islands. She is of 950 tons, and has accommodation for passengers.
WAIPAHI SAILED.— The Vnion Company's fruit steamer Waipahl lelt for Newcastle and Sydney yesterday evenins. The vessel will load at Sydney on .March 20 for Fiji, leaving Suva for Auckland on March 20. She is due on April 4. AORANGI CLEARS VANCOUVER. — Advice was received by the local office of the Union Company yesterday that the Royal Mail liner Aorangi left Aancouver for Auckland, via Honolulu and Suva, at noon on the is due at Auckland on March 25. CANADIAN CHALLENGER SAILED. — The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Challenger sailed last night for Now York, Boston and Halifax. She tod: general cargo from New Zealand ports. She arrived at Auckland early last month with general cargo from Halifax. SHIPPING SALE. —The steamer Berwyn (ex Mattawa, ex Franktor. ex St. Hugo), two decks. 4.574 tons gross, 3.C5S tons net, carries about 5.095 tons deadweight on a draft of 24ft BJin, built by Messrs. A. McMillan and Son. Dumbarton, in 1912. with engines 27in. 44in, and 73in, bv 4Sin stroke, by R. Rowan and Cc., and owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company (Canadian Pacific Steamships, Ltd.). London, has been sold to; British buvers for. it is reported, about £32,500. The vessel visited Australia under the name of the St. Hugo. CANADIAN HIGHLANDER IN PORT. —The Canadian Government . Line s steamer, Canadian Highlander, arrived in the stream at Auckland last evening from Halifax. and was berthed this morning at the Prince's Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo. Variable weather was experienced throughout the voyage. Captain P. C. A. Robertson is in command and has the following officers with him: Chief, Mr. W. Johnstone: second. Mr. A. J. Melanson: third, Mr. R. J. Randell; wireless operator, Mr. O. K. Myers' chief engineer. Mr. W. Middleton; second. Mr. J. Mahen: third, Mr. D. James: fourth. Mr. P. Holden; chief steward, Mr. S. Knight. After discharge here, the vessel sails to-morrow for Napier, thence Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin and Bluff to complete her discharge, and to load for her return trip. The vessel is expected to return to Auckland about the end of March to fill up for New Y'ork, Boston and Montreal. I ARAWA'S PASSENGERS.— The Shaw.
