“KING OF KINGS”

BOX PLANS OPEN MONDAY The “King of Kings” film has been shown in Chicago, New York, Berlin, London, Sydney, since last Easter! (The Sydney screening was a private function.) Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, are now about to have the supreme privilege of seeing on the screen the mightiest subject in human history—Jesus of Nazareth, the author of Christianity! Catholics, Protestants, Jews, nonChristians, have all alike been profoundly impressed. Their leaders have spoken. After all major or minor criticisms have been spoken, the effect remains —the verdict is really unanimous—the “King of Kings” is a great gift to civilisation. The picture will go round the world for years and years. All races can grasp its sublime measure, all creeds can agree on its perfect beauty, all religious hearts will throb with its vital persuasions! “What can I say?” said a great British journalist and religious leader, writing in the “Christian World” (London) —“I can say nothing. My friend and I walked out into the street and home, in an intense silence.” In Chicago, an editor of perhaps the most powerful religious journal in America, says he stood and watched the aristocrats and the wage-earners going in—and nearly three hours later —coming out. He was amazed at the change in their faces! The man of sorrows, the sacrifice for human sufferers—had gripped Chicago’s multitude as He used to do Jerusalem’s crowd. The box plans for the season of “The King of Kings” at Everybody’s, will be open at that theatre on Monday at 10 a.m.
