Suburban Cricket
AN UNSOUGHT HOLIDAY Games Start Again A FTER a spell of two Saturdays—the Domain being used A for sports meetings—the senior matches ol the Subui ban Associa ion will recommence to-morrow.
VVHEM ••stumps” was last sounded ” for the seniors on the Domain, Green Dane ceased its efforts to appear threatening in the lace of Ellerslie’s first innings score of 266. The Dane managed to score 113 for five wickets. Th@ innings was very ordinary up to this stage, but with, perhaps, the best batsmen to come, Ellersiie’s trundling may suffer. “BROTHERS IN ARMS” The “family affair” between Harbour A and Harbour B will undoubtedly prove interesting. Following the shock the Colts gave the A team, the latter opened its first innings very warily and when stumps were drawn
had scored S 3 for two Breese clean bowled! In the Glen Eden-Ponsonby game, the former has so far made an acceptable reply to the “Ponies” 252, by scoring 76 for three -wickets. This team also has yet to send its best men to the crease, so anything might happen. It is to be hoped that the • •Ponies” will lose their hand-gallop in the field and do some genuine stretching out after the leather. Ml in all, the cricket will prove undeniably interesting and should attract most of its usual keen following despite the fact that the giants of the willow from "across the pond will be playing Auckland.
