BATHING BEAUTIES
LUNA PARK CONTEST FIRST ROUND TO-NIGHT To-night will mark the first round of Luna Park’s bathing beauty contest, and the ladies’ and gentlemen’s poster parade competitions. These will all be held on the open-air stage in the centre of the park. All voting, with the exception of the national dancing contest, will -be by popular vote by holders of adult concession cards. These will be counted and results made known by 10.30. The original programme will be followed from to-morrow night, the fancy dress competitions, both ladies and gentlemen, only being changed. These will be held on Saturday night. The next thousandth concession card will be sold early to-night, when the lucky purchaser will be given a £ 1 prize. Attractions this evening include another sequence treasure hunt. There were three winners last night in a similar competition, the chase at times waxing hot and furious, as the numerous competitors rushed hither and thither in search of clues. Over nine and under 12: Ailsa Docherty, 1; Freda Jensen, 2; Willie Saul, 3. Over 12 and under 14: Kathleen Reid, 1; Irene Long, 2; Delvis Purdon, 3. Over 12 and under 16: Edna Fitzwilliams, 1; Catherine Akerston, 2; Constance McLeod, 3. Sequence Treasure Hunt.—Miss Doris Chynoweth, Miss Audry Letts and Mr. A. L. Downs.
