Symon, C.M.G., DS.O- returned to Wellington last evening by the Limited. Professor H. C. Brown, of Stanford University, California, and Mrs. Brown, are staying at Hotel Stonehurst. Captain Goss and Captain Gray were amon? the passengers who arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited. Mr. A. E. Fredric, of Hamilton, has been appointed postmaster at the Frankton Junction railway post office. Mr. D. Miller, Government entomologist, is on a visit to Auckland. He v.ili leave for Wellington to-morrow evening. Mr. P. T. Field, who has recently removed from Hamilton to Matamata, has resigned his seat on the Hamilton Borough Council. Mr. R. Forrester, of Wanganui, and Mr. A. McCrory, of Auckland, have h=>en appointed postal supervisors at the Frankton Junction railway post oflce. Mr. W. E. Bush, city engineer, who his been engaged on a commission in Wellington, returned to Auckland this Homing. Mr. A. B. Lawrence, manager of the yastorton branch of th€> Union Bank o-! Australia, is leaving the service of the bank on superannuation, and will Uke up his residence in Auckland. Mr. H R.
