MEMORIAL TO LATE MR. W. A. BROWN The memory of a very skilful and sporting lady tennis player, who made history in Auckland tennis by winning for the first time, all women’s championships in one year, will be perpetuated by the Daisy Udy Shield, which lias been presented to the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. Later to become Mrs. "W. A. Brown, Miss Daisy Udy, whose mother, Mrs. Oxley, has presented the shield in her memory, gave womens’ tennis in Auckland a healthy stimulus, and her influence was far-reaching. Mrs. Oxley has suggested that the shield be for annual competition among junior women players, and a committee consisting of Messrs. IT. G. Thompson, G. L. Taylor, and R. G. Hardie has been set up to consider the question on behalf of the A.L.T.A.
