ANNUAL REGATTA DANCE
| PONSONBY CRUISING CLUB A very cheery spirit pervaded the Point Erin Tea Kiosk last evening, when the popular Ponsonby Cruising Club held its annual regatta flannel dance. The kiosk was gaily decorated with balloons and streamers and trails of greenery. Delightful novelties had been arranged for the amusement of i the dancers, including quaintly de- ( signed and brightly coloured paper i caps, streamers and balloons. The | Syncopators supplied some splendid dance music. A happy thought inspired the setting of the supper tables on the cool verandahs overlooking the park and the harbour. Mrs. Goodison, the secretary, and i the ladies’ committee left nothing undone that could add to the enjoyment of the dancers and altogether the-even - ing was a great success. Visitors from several other boating and yachting clubs were among the guests. The ladies present included: Mrs. Goodison, gown of coral pink georgette, with slightly draped skirt. Mrs. Lidgward, frock of Wedge wood blue crepe de chine relieved with ivory. Mrs. S. L. Dryland, cloth of gold and black satin model. Mrs. Currin, eau de nil crepe de chine frock, with silver flower at shoulder. Mrs. Smith, duchess blue crepe de chine gown. Mrs. Tyrrill, jade green crepe de chine gown, featuring French pleating. Mrs. Lumley, cloth of gold model with swathed sash and fur hemline. Mrs. Smith, green gros-grain bouffant taffetas frock. Mrs. Brownley, gown of black georgette. Mrs. Murphy, apricot crepe de chine, beaded in crystal. Mrs. Brewster, sage green taffetas frock. Miss Brown, model of Nile green georgette, sequined and beaded in silver. Miss Tyrrill, chic black satin frock, appliqued with bright cherry colour. Miss Newcombe, dainty frock of rose georgette and lace. Miss J. Hawes, model of black lace and georgette. Miss M. Wedge, bois de rose crepe chine gown. Miss M. McHattie, black georgette frock, with relief of silver. Miss M. Williams, shell-pink crepe de chine frock. Miss Bates, coral pink georgette frock Miss E. Smythe, dainty, frock of Nile green georgette. . Miss P. Mobberly, coral pink satin russe gown, with white fur hem. Miss T. Christmas, midnight blue souple satin. Miss Casey, bouffant frock of ivory taffetas, with scalloped hem. Miss O. Totman, peach georgette frock relieved with electric blue. Miss Meria Von Lubbe, black taffetas gown, with orange bow at the hip. Miss G. Wells, cloth of silver gown. Miss Hawkes, apricot crepe de chine frock. Miss Parsons, peach tinted georgette and lace gown, with shoulder posy of contrasting shades. Miss T. Stubbs, embroidered jade green crepe de chine gown. Miss Walsh, gown of rose velvet with gold lace overskirt. Miss Ashley, black satin model. Miss Whittle, black satin and gold lace gown. I Miss K. Whittle, dainty frock of apricot georgette.
