AUCKLAND’S PART CAMPAIGN FOR FUNDS The Auckland branch of the New Zealand Olympic Committee held a meeting last night. Mr. G. Henning presiding. The secretary reported that the appeal for funds was now in full swing, and within a week between 1,000 and 1,500 subscription lists would be circulated. , The Auckland Automobile Association has agreed to assist the fund by holding a gymkhana at Mangere on Saturday week. A race between a foot runner and a motor-car over lOOvds and an exhibition of flying in a Moth airplane, by Mr. Mills, will be features of the gymkhana. The chairman and Mr. A. T. Davis were appointed a sub-committee to wait on the Auckland Bowling Centre with a view to the centre holding a one-dav tournament in order to assist the Olympic funds. The Motor-Cycling Sports Chib also signified its .willingness to put on a programme, in aid of the funds.
