POST-MORTEM FEES
LOSS OF EXPERT MEDICAL SERVICE INADEQUACY OF PAY Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesda. . The danger of not having the services of an expert pathologist at post-mortem examinations owing to the inadequate fee now provided by the Justice Depart* ment was stressed yesterday by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., and members of the Bar at the conclusion of the Duncan case. “My duty has been greatly simplified by the detailed and excellent report of Dr. Pearson, of the Christchurch Hospital,” said Mr. Mosley. “We are fortunate in having a roan like Dr. Pearson in such cases, and I hope he will be available for the purposes of all post-mortem examinations, and not. as at present, only at my personal and earnest solicitations. “Owing to the fact that the Justice Department has reduced ttye for post-mortem examinations so much one cannot reasonably ask for the services of a man like Dr. Pearson. The sooner Dr. Pearson’s services are available for such cases the better for the country.”
