Rotorua Baths Need Attention
MINISTER’S PROMISE ANSWER TO DEPUTATION (From Our Own Correspondent) ROTORUA, To-day. Advantage was taken of the visit of the Hon. W. Nos worthy to Rotorua to bring under his notice the condition of the Blue and Pavilion Baths. The Deputy-Mayor, Mr. J. N. McLean, pointed out that the borough had spent £1,200 in three years advertising the town and attention was drawn to the benefits of the baths, but he doubted if the expenditure was justified with the baths in such a disgraceful condition. He declared the furnishing in the rest rooms would not be tolerated in a fourth-rate country hotel. In reply the Minister said he intended to ask Parliament for sufficient money to do the work and erect buildings that would be a credit to the Government and in keeping with the progressive town of Rotorua. Mr. Nosworthy also promised to obtaip a report regarding the opening up of the track to Orakeikorako.
