EVERYBODY’S
“FLOWER OF THE FOREST’ I “Flower of the Forest,’* an extremely charming version of the old ! story of Cinderella, is all the more | pleasing because it does not end I quite as fairy stories do. though, it begins in the good old way. Christel, i the forester’s daughter, falls in love with her king, believing him to be a royal servant. And the king falls in love with the charming girl. But the queen-mother intervenes and tells Christel that if sh 9 really loves the king and wishes for his hg.ppiness she will give him up. So Christel goes sadly away and a little later marries a man in her own station of life. This delightful story also introduced three new faces to the New Zealand screen—viz., Lya Mara, a beautiful Viennesse artist, and Harry Liedtke and William Dieterle, two Continental actors of great repute. The settings were all that could be desired and the ! film is certainly recommended as distinctly different. ! This picture will be presented at Everybody’s Theatre to-morrow, when “The Small Bachelor’ -will also be shown.
