“SHE’S A SHEIK”

COMING TO REGENT “She’s a Sheik,” which will be shown at the New Regent on Friday, presents Bebe Daniels in what is said to be the best role of her cyclonic life before the camera. As Zaida, bewitching grand-daughter of Sheik Yusiff ben Hamad, Bebe is given a chance to indulge in all /the rapid-fire action and laugh situations that Director Clarence Badger could devise. She fights a duel with the man she hates, kidnaps the man she loves, tries to tame him, and change his hate into love, saves the Foreign Legion troops when they are surrounded by Arabs, prevents a shooting squad from killing her fiance, and any of a hundred other things! Supporting Bebe through the film are such fine players as Richard Arlen, William Powell, Josephine Dunn, James Bradbury, jun., Billy Franey, Paul McAllister, and A 1 Fremont.

A special prologue has been arranged to precede the screening of “She’s a Sheik.” The story of “In a Persian Market,” to be played by organ and orchestra combined, will be actually portrayed on the stage by a cast of over 20 players. Miss Cecil Hall’s ballet, Miss Betty Edwards; as the princess, beggars and jugglers, the caravan with its asses, the snake charmer and the caliph, all will be introduced most realistically in a spec-ially-built setting.
