NORTHCOTE BOROUGH
NO WATER RESTRICTIONS At a meeting of the Northcote Borough Council yesterday evening, presided over by the Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, the waterworks engineer reported that 4,037,500 gallons of water had been used during February. It was decided to reply to the Devonport Borough Council, which wrote inviting co-operation in water conservation, that while all measures would be taken to prevent waste, the Northcote council saw no reason to restrict water used lor legitimate purposes. The Mayor and the borough overseer, Mr. J. E. Mays, were appointed to represent Northcote at a conference next Monday afternoon concerning sewerage outfalls into t.h*» harbour.
