ISSUE OF DEBENTURES The issue of £200,000 in debentures is now announced by the Auckland Gas Company. The company invites applications for the debentures, which carry interest at 6£ per cent., and have a currency of seven years. Debentures will be issued in denominations of £SO, £IOO, £250, or £SOO, as desired, and will be payable to bearer, but may be registered if desired. Coupons for interest will be attached. One hundred and fifty thousand of the money to be raised by this issue of debtntures now offered for subscription is for the purpose of replacing the present issue of per cent. “B” I debentures falling due on May 1, 1928. i The balance, £50,000, is for the dej velopment of the business of the comj pany. Applications to be sent to the company at its office, Wyndham Street, Auckland, up to 12 o’clock noon on April 21, 1928, accompanied by a deposit of 20 per cent, of the amount applied for. The balance payable on or before May 1, 1928. FRANKTON STOCK MARKET PRICES ADVANCED (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report on the weekly stock sale at Frankton yards:—Yesterday there was a full yarding and all classes were well represented. Fat cattle again advanced in value, best cows making to £9 10s: lighter, £7 to £8 ss; veal calves, £1 10s to £2 12s 6d; forward cows, £3 10s to £5 ss; fresh 3&-year bullocks, fair competition, £6 5s to £7 11s. The market for mutton was brisk with an advance on recent rates, ewes selling up to 25s Id; lighter sheep, 20s to 235; forward ewes, 10s 3d to 13s 3d. Breeding ewes were not in much demand. B.L. rams brought 6gns. An advertised line of p.b. Lincoln ewes did not draw competition and were passed in. The second “marked calf” sale under the auspices of the New Zealand HerdTesting Association, was fairly successful, and the whole catalogue was quitted; 27 on behalf of Mr. J. Nicholson, Okoroire, topped the list with £6; a line from Mr. A. C. Andrews sold for £5 10s; Mr. W. A. Wright, Horahora, got £5 17s 6d. Pigs again advanced on late rates. Heavv baconers, £3 15s, £4 3s, £ 3 8s and £3 12s; light, £2 18s to £3 4s; heavy porkers, £2 10s to £ -15 s; light, £1 12s to £2 2s; slips, 12s to Ids; weaners, 3s to Bs.
