MARKET QUIET BANKS STEADY The market remains quiet, although a steady demand exists for most giltedged investments. In the banking section. Australasia still hold firm, with buyers <£ls Is, sellers £ls 4s. New South Wales also have steady buyers at £47 ss, sellers £47 10s, while Union Bank of Australia have buyers at £l4 13s, no sellers. New Zealand and River Plate scrip have steady buyers at 295; no shares offering. Coal shares still maintain fair prices, Pukemiros stand with buyers t>3s; Taupiri are also in demand with steady buyers for both ordinary and preference shares. Milne and Choyce, both shares and debenture stock, have keen buyers, no sellers appearing. Union Oil, Soap and Candle shares are sought after at 40s.
