LUBRICATING SPRINGS One way to lubricate springs is to jack up the chassis frame of the car, and then insert graphite grease between the leaves with the aid of an old table knife. This is a laborious job, however, and a plan which is nearly as successful, whilst being less trouble, is to mix in a tin about a quarter of a pint each of engine oil and paraffin, and then paint this on to the springs with an old paint brush. Police constables of Breda, Holland, undergo a course of lessons in motorcar driving as a help to them in their duties of traffic control.
