goods trains running STOCK AND MANURES CARRIED Although the new East Coast Railway, running from Waihi to Taneatt/<d, has not been officially taken over by the Railway Department goods are to be carried over the whole line. FYom yesterday arrangements have been made to carry manures and live stork over the new section. This will be of great benefit to the farming community, who will now be able to truck their stock to Auckland or to intermediate stations. The carriage of manures will make it easier for the farmers to obtain this very necessary commodity for their soil. On March 9 the inspecting engineer for the Public Works will make his final inspection of the section which has been completed by Sir W. G. Armstrong. Whitworth, Ltd., in preparation for the taking over by the Railway Department at the official opening oil March 28. On the day of the official opening the whole section will be fully staffed by railway officials, and trains will run to their regular timetable, which is at present being arranged.
