Excursions for Farmers.-?- The Railway Department has decided to issue farmers’ excursion tickets during the May to August school holidays. Electoral Centre. —A movement is on foot in Morrinsville to have that town appointed the electoral centre for Waikato electorate. Waihi Valuations. —Thirteen objections have been lodged against the valuations made in Waihi. The assessment court sits on Tuesday. Forgery Admitted. —John Jenkins, aged 48, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to two charges of forging cheques for £5. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Waihi School Appointment. —Miss Ethel Cornes has been appointed relieving infant mistress at the Waihi East School in place of Miss E. Billing, who left for Taihape on Tuesday. Mails Arriving. —The Chief Postmaster advises that 27 bags of English and Australian letters ex the Manuka from Melbourne are due at Auckland by the Express to-morrow morning. Mails Home. —The Chief Postmaster advises that the mails, which left Wellington per the R.M.S. Makura via San Francisco on February 1, arrived at London on March 2. Young Man Injured. —By the capsizing of a motor-lorry near Whatawhata on Saturday, S. Donovan, aged 19, of Frankton, received injuries to his head and arms and was admitted to the Waikato Hospital. Supreme Court Closes. —Owing to the fact that Mr. Justice Blair is conducting the Hamilton criminal sessions and Mr. Justice Reed is leaving for the Court of Appeal at the end of the week, there will be no sitting of the Auckland Supreme Court next week.
