AFTER 1929 BUDGET
ELECTIONS IN BRITAIN PROSPECTS OF TAX RELIEF British Wireless—Press Assn.—Copyright Reed. 12.15 p.m. RUGBY, Sunday. Viscount Younger, treasurer of the Unionist Party, speaking at Kilmarnock last evening, said that the general election would not be held until after the Budget of 1929, probably in June or July of next year. The financial position had improved considerably, he said, but the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Winston Churchill, would not be able to do much to relieve taxation this year. If trade continued to improve as it was doing, there should be a satisfactory Budget next year, he added.— A. and N.Z.
