CONSEQUENT on A. E. Cooke’s inability to go to South Africa with the All B'acks, S. R. Carleton, of Christchurch, has been selected to make the trip. Many considered that Carleton was unlucky not to have been included in the original selection, but “it’s an ill wind that blows nobody good,” and Cooke's defection has given the popular Southerner the chance of a lifetime in international football.
