Norma Wilson, Gisborne’s little lady »runner, holder of the Auckland and New Zealand sprint titles, ran at a monster sports gathering in Napier last week, making: an effort to lower the New Zeals nd ladies’ 100 yards record. Unfortunately a hefty breeze was blowing up the track and against it the Poverty Bay girl had a hard row to hoe. She covered the distance in I2sec—an excellent effort in the circumstances —but it was 3-ssee too slow to set a new level for the distance.
