Roto Roa Inmates Fight Fierce Fire
LARGE SHED BURNED SALVATION ARMY’S LOSS (Special to THE SUN) COWES, To-day. At 11 o’clock last night the large woolshed and slaughterhouse on Rote Roa Island .was completely destroyed by fire. Major _H*>me and a number ot the inmates were soon upon the scene. As the shed was full of oaten sheaves, a big blaze resulted and nothing could be done to save the place, but a bucket brigade was formed and saved the shack nearby from destruction. The building was covered by Insurance in the Standard Office, but the Salvation Army had no insurance on the contents. The origin of the fire is a mystery.
