MR. C. HUDSON'S FUNERAL
There was a large attendance at St. Barnabas’s Church, Mount Eden, yesterday, when a funeral service for the late Mr. Charles Hudson was conducted by Archdeacon Mac Murray, who was officiating in the absence of Archbishop Averill. The assisting clergyman was the Rev. E. E. Bamford, vicar of the church which Mr. Hudson had attended for so many years. Mr. Bamford eulogised the work of Mr. Hudson for the Church in general and St. Barnabas's in particular. After the service the lengthy cortege left for Purewa Cemetery, where the service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. E. E. Bamford. Among the clergy present were Archdeacon Simkin, Canons Haselden, E J. MacFarland and Grant Cowen and the Revs. P. S. Smallfield, G. Coats, C. A. B. Watson, Gordon Bell, H. B. Wingfield, R. J. Stanton, H. N. Drummond, C. F. R. Harrison and R. H. Hobdav. The pallbearers, all vestrymen of St. Barnabas's, were Messrs. E. Tates, T H. Wright, S. Harris, E. B. Bambury, H. C. Robinson and A. Hole. The following institutions and societies were represented: Auckland Diocesan Synod, Mr. C. J. Tunks and Mr. Norman Williams; Costley Trust Board, Mr. C. J. Tunks and Mr. Wesley Spragg; Diocesan pension board and standing committee, Mr. Julius Hogben; Mount Eden Borough Council, the Mayor, Mr. E. H. Potter, the town clerk, Mr. S. Gray, and Messrs. F. Morris, W. Woolley, S. Newcomb, L. Joll and J. P. Hooton; Auckland Choral Society, Messrs. H. E. Simmonds, C. B. Plumfner. H. D. Bunby, H. J. Edmiston and E. A. Brown; Auckland Savings Bank, Mr. E. A. Brown.
