RETURNS FOR FEBRUARY £11,963 FROM PETROL TAX Of the £201,623 collected in customs duties at the Port of Auckland during February, £11,963 was derived from the petrol tax. In spite of this, however, the amount collected represented a substantial drop from the corresponding figures of last year and of 1926. Customs duties and beer duty collected at Christchurch during the month totalled £68,187, as against £82,252 in February last year, a decrease of £14,065. The beer duty totalled £5,737, as against £7,049 in February, 1927, a decrease of £1,672. DUNEDIN FIGURES Press Association. DUNEDIN, Wednesday. Compared with February of last year a slight decrease is shown in the customs revenue collected at Dunedin during the past month. The beer duty, however, shows an increase of £ 444 4s 3d. During February, 1927, the customs revenue amounted to £59,540 16s lid, and the beer duty to £19,498 14s Id. The figures for last month were £59,419 12s 3d, and £19,942 18s 4d respectively.
