WAIKATO V. KING COUNTRY (From Our Own Correspondent) i TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. ! Keen disappointment was felt locally ; last month when it became known ' that a proposed match with Waikato | for the South Auckland Shield would f not take place, but the matter is again to the fore, Mr. F. Miller, secretary of the King Country Cricket Association, having been advised that Waikato will send a team to try conclusions with King Country for the shield on Saturday next. It is understood the Waikato eleven will number among its members Cavanagh, Badeley, Hemus (the ex-New Zealand re- ! presentative), N. Winger, Hawke, • Pomeroy. Senior, Taylor, and others whom the local men will find worthy opponents. The King Country team has been selected as follows: R. Win- j ger. N. Thomas. A. Sandel, R. Thomas, j McLeay, Day, McNamara, Christensen, Gibbons, Rutherford, Carroll; emergency, Chote.
