DANGEROUS CROSSING

ARGYLE STREET MENACE DEPUTATION TO PRIME MINISTER “The Railway Department will not be able to shelve a deputation,” said Cr. J. H. Langley, who last evening summed up the feelings of the Mt. Albert Borough Council, which, he said, “had grown tired of frequent fruitless protests against the menace of Argyle Street railway crossing.” At a meeting last evening a copy of a resolution passed at a recent meeting, urging the erection of a triffic bridge over the crossing, was under discussion. The Mayor, Mr. L. E. Rhodes, suggested the formation of a deputation of delegates to the forthcoming municipal conference to wait on the Prime Minister. He would be asked that immediate effect be given to repeated requests for relief. The suggestion was agreed to, on the motion of Cr. P. Floyd. It was also decided to send a copy of the resolution to the department.
