LOSS TO MOUNT ALBERT

CR. ALLINGHAM RESIGNS HELD IN GENERAL ESTEEM The resignation of Cr. R. J. Ailingham from the Mount Albert Borough Council owing to business pressure was accepted with regret at last evening’s meeting of the council. The Mayor, Mr. L. E. Rhodes, paid a tribute to the resigning member who, lie said, had always been level-headed. He had acted as Deputy-Mayor and had whole-heartedly studied the interests of ratpayers by a sound policy of progress. Reference to the esteem in which Cr. Allinghani was held was made by all members. He had served on the council for a period extending over four elections. His common sense and keen judgment would be missed by the council.

It was decided to send Cr. Allinghani a letter of appreciation.
