SAILOR-SOLDIER VETERAN.—Mr. E. R. London, who arrived, with his wife, from Canada by the Niagara to settle at Cambridge, is facing- life in a new land at 72. "Shanghaied” from the Royal Navy by Uncle Sam, Mr. London subsequently marched to the relief of Gordon, fought in the Boxer rebellion, searched for diamonds in Paraguay, and accompanied Lord Grimthorpe's father to India in connection with . a boundary dispute.
