MATCH AGAINST KIMBERLEY On Saturday, the Birkdale Tennis Club played the Kimberley Tennis Club at Wairoa Avenue. Birkenhead. Mr. Logie welcomed the visitors < n behalf of the Kimberley Club, and Mr. Garrett suitably replied for the Birkdale Club. A pleasant afternoon was spent, and at the end of the day the Birkdale Tennis Cub were the victors by S 3, 13 sets, to 41 games, 3 sets. The results are as follow, the Birkdale names being mentioned first: Women’s Singles.—Miss Casey beat Mrs. Hyde, 6 —2; Miss Chetwyne beat Miss Gulliver, 6—l; Airs. Casey beat Mrs. Kerruish, 6—l. Men’s Singles.—C. Haver lost to E. Harrison, 6—4; G. McGovern lost P. Mr. Hutchings, 6 —3; L. Moller and G. Simpson drew, 3—3. (This was an excellent match, but owing to the bad light the players retired at 3 all). Men’s Doubles. —P. McGovern and C. Schorman beat D. Honeycomb and W. Copeland. 6— 4: F. Schorman and A. Moller beat S. Logie and N. Hyde, 6— o; W. Garrett and L. Moller beat G. Simpson and K. Harrison. 7—6. Women’s Doubles. —Miss Casey and Miss Chetwyne beat Miss I. Coyle ;r d Mrs. Kerruish. €—3; Mrs. Casey and Mrs. Alexander beat Miss Logie and Miss Gulliver, 6—o: Miss Casey and Miss Adkin beat Miss Dickson and Airs. Hyde, 6—2. Alixed Doubles. —Aliss Adkin and L. Alexander beat Aliss Wilkins and W. Milne, f—2; Miss Chetwyne and F. Tonar beat Miss Boardman and Mr. Kerruish. 6 —l; Airs. Alexander and W. Garrett beat Miss Reveil and Air. Reveil, 6—i.
