(From Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, Monday. The Waipa Association's competitions were continued on Saturday in fine weather. Te Awamutu met with a reverse at the hands of Te Kawa, who defeated the home team by 25 runs. The scores were: Te Kawa 94, Te Awamutu 69. Ashton (46) was the outstanding batsmen for the winners, while R. MexJ ted scored a useful 17. For Te Awamutu. Morriss_ was top-scorer with 36. and Taylor made 10. The Paterangi team had an easy win ! over Puahue. whom they defeated by i 109 runs. L. Spiers completely collared i the bowling, and after compiling a century Paterangi declared its innings closed ! with a total of 192 for six wickets. Fuahui’s chief batsmen were May (25) and ! Harlock (not out, 25). C. J. Spiers cap- { tured five wickets for 3S. I The game at Albert Park was between | Kaipaki and Korakonui. The latter ■ scored 121, of which L. Kay put on 29 !W. Orr 25 and Wilson 22. Kaipaki responded with only 49, Fraser and Silvester proving destructive with the ball. Goodwin was the only batsman to make anything of a stand, scoring 19. Though the decision was on a one-innings contest. Kaipaki went in again and when stumps were drawn it had proved that it was a side to be reckoned with, for its tally was 100 for the loss of two wickets. J. jM. Eldowney contributed 75 not out in - fine style, his total including one six and | nine fours. I
