SIXTEEN RACES
ELLERSLIE AT EASTER AUCKLAND CLUB’S REVISED PROGRAMME At a special meeting of the Auckland Racing Club Committee held yesterdav it was decided to revert to eight races a day at the forthcoming autiimn meeting on April 7 and 9 (Easter Saturday and Monday). To give effect to this it was agreed to add a hack race, known as the Eden Handicap of 400sovs, distance one mile, to the first day, and a trial hurdle race, hack conditions, of 400sovs, 15 miles, on the second day. The erder of running the events was altered from that previously advertised to permit of the additional events being inserted in suitable parts of the programme. The extension of the Auckland Rac- ; ing Club's autumn programme from 14 to 16 races means the addition of £ SCO I to the prize money, which is now raised , to £11,600. The complete programme as rear- ! ranged is now as follows: FIRST DAY I President's Handicap, of £600; 15 miles. . Great Northern Oaks, of £700; 1* miles. Brighton Hurdles, of £550; 2 miles. Easter Handicap, of £1,750; 1 mile. Great Northern Champagne Stakes, of £1.500; 6 furlongs. . Mangere Steeplechase, of £400; about Stakes, of £400; 6 furlongs. ; Eden Handicap, of £400; 11 niiles. SECOND DAY r Nelson Handicap, of £400: 1 mile. ‘ Victoria Handicap, of £500: 6 furlongs. Trial Hurdle Race, of £400; It miles (hack conditions). Autumn Handicap, of £1,000; 11 miles. Autumn Steeplechase, of £500; about , ° Great Northern St. Leger, of £1.000; 12 miles. „ . , Huia Handicap, of £900; 6 xurlongs. Islington Handicap, of £600; 1 mile.
