Trained and Rode The Winners

HONOURS AROHA The riding and training honours at the Te Aroha meeting were pretty evenly distributed, the 16 races being shared by 14 horsemen and 14 trainers. The most successful mentors were F. E. Loomb (Te Awamutu), and W. Kemp (Onehunga). The former had the pleasure of leading in Cybelle on Saturday and Lady Cintra yesterday. It was the two-year-old Gold Money that placed Kemp at the head of the list, for this filly captured the juvenile races each day. Other successful trainers were: C. Carmont, sen. (Ladies’ Boy), W. Stone (Schorr), W. Townsend (Royal Doulton), G. Henderson (Adjuster), T. Irwin (High Pitch), H. A. Harris (Kingfield), F. Smith (Uralla), T. W. Taylor (Appellant), W, C. Woods (Transformer), M. J. Carroll (Paganelli), A. P. Brady (Star Comet), and P. W. Scally (Branson). Three jockeys succeeded in saluting the judge on more than one occasion. They were C. Goulsbro and the apprentices Husband and W. Brady. The

farmer scored on two good-priced winners in Adjuster and Schorr, while Brady steered a couple of outsiders, Star Comet and Ladies’ Boy. The apprentice Husband was on the winner of each juvenile event. Other horsemen who had winning mounts were: J. Mcßae (Lady Cintra), K. Gill (Royal Doulton), H. Jones (Cybelle), L. Manson (High Pitch). H. Lee (Kingfield), L. Coleman (Uralla), H. Wiggins (Appellant), A. DriscoL (Transformer), P. Mclnally (Paganelli), and L. A. Pine (Branson).
