Burdis; chief refrigerating engineer. Mr. J. F. Litton; surgeon, Mr. H. H. Crichett; steward- incharge, Mr. I. Brain; senior radio operator, Mr. K. Harwood. ECHUNGA FROM NEWCASTLE. With the first cargo of recent tender of Newcastle coal for the Xew Zealand Government Railways, the inter-State steamer Echunga is expected to arrive at Auckland early this afternoon and berths at the Western Wharf to discharge. Dalgety and Company are the local agents. CANADIAN CHALLENGER RETURNING.—The local office of the Canadian Government Line has been advised that the steamer Canadian Challenger was due at Wellington this morning from Lyttelton. and leaves to-morrow for Auckland, where she is due on Sunday. After loading here, the Canadian Challenger is to sail from Auckland next Tuesday for Xew York, Boston and Halifax. HINEMOA FOR NORFOLK ISLAND.— At three o’clock this afternoon the Xew Zealand Government steamer Hinemoa was to sail from Auckland for Norfolk Island. CLANSMAN’S WINTER TIME-TABLE. I the Clansman will revert next week to her winter time-table and will then only make one trip a week to Russell and Northern ports. The vessel will iea\e Auckland every Monday and return to Auckland from the North the foJowmg Friday. LAMB STEAMER REPORTS. —A wireless report from the Lamb steamer Omana states that she will reach Auckland to-morrow night. The vessel has a cargo of poles and coal which she load- a at Newcastle, Sydney and Port Stephens. She will unload a quantity at Central Wharf and the remainder at Tauranga. The Northern Company are the local agents. MANUKA FROM MELBOURNE--Cabled news has been received Dy UM I Union Company that the Manuka, -J°m 'Wellington, via Milford Sound, arrived at Melbourne at 11 a.m. on Friday. Tne vessel is to leave there at 10 a.m. tomorrow for Wellington, and is due there on Monday morning-, leaving again the same day for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and Melbourne. THE QUERCUS OR OAK.—The Colonial Sugar Company has received advice that the steamer Quercus is expected to reach Auckland about March •>. with a full cargo of raw sugar from Java. After discharge at Chelsea the vessel will proceed to Westport for bunkers, tneic e probably Xauru Island to load phosphates for New Zealand or Australia. She is a steamer of 4,564 tons gross, and wo.s built last vear at Port Glasgow. Iter owners are the Arbor Shipping Company, London, who call their vessels after a tree, the Quercus being Latin for Oak. Messrs. Robert Millar and Company will ; act as agents for the vessel. MARGARET W IN PORT. —The fourmasted auxiliary schooner Margaret W ar- . rived at Auckland yesterday afternoon after a smart passage of eight days from Newcastle. The vessel brought a cargo of ooles and Australian hardwood which she' loaded at Port Stephens. From Port Stephens she went to Newcastle for oil fuel for her engines. She sailed from Newcastle on February 19, and experienced fresh north-east winds and rough seas during the first two days from port. Afterwards light variable winds and a high confused swell, which caused the vessel to roll heavily, were encountered, I until the vessel rounded Cape Maria Van | Diemen on Sunday morning. On the run down the coast to Auckland fresh soutlij erly winds prevailed. The average speed j from Newcastle to Auckland was over seven knots. The vessel is unloading a 1 I quantity of cargo at Central Wharf. She is expected to sail to-morrow for Waiko- ‘ kopu and Gisborne to complete discharge. : | Messrs.
