Motor Cars Collide
THREE PEOPLE INJURED ACCIDENT AT REMUERA Two motor-cars collided at the corner of Omahu and Dromorne Roads, Remuera, at six o’clock last evening, and as a result Ur. A. E. Marsaek, of Remuera, and two children of Mr. P. T. Upton, of Remuera, were injured. Hr. Marsaek’s car, which was driven by his son, was turning into Omahu Road from Dromorne Road when the accident occurred, and Mr. Upton’s car, driven by himself, was proceeding up Omahu Road in the direction of Remuera. The collision occurred in the middle of the intersection. Hr. Marsaek’s car swung against the other, and fell on its side. It was practically wrecked, the chassis being twisted, the front axle broken, the coachwork shattered, and all the glasswork broken. The other car had a front wheel bent under the body, and the side was badly damaged, at the point of impact. Mr. Upton’s two children, James and Susie, were in the back of their father’s car with their sister and a cousin. When removed from the car they were unconscious. Hr. G. M. Pezaro found the girl to bo suffering from head injuries, and she was taken to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, where an operation was performed. Her condition is not serious. The boy escaped with bruises. After receiving attention from Hr. Frank Macky , Hr. Marsaek was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance Brigade. An operation was performed, and lie is now reported to bo improving. His son, Mr. A. JZ. Marsaek, who was on the lower sido when the car overturned, had a remarkable escape from injury.
